In NAV 2009 R2, when I click "Tools", "Security", and "Windows Logins" the SID is showing in the ID column. This used to show actual Active Directory user names. Does anyone know how to change it back to the usernames over the SIDs and why this might have happened? I see there are two columns available (ID and SID) but both show the SID. -- Brent

Hi Hannes, Yes I can confirm the inventory setup is configured to adjust cost automatically and all items are set for average cost. If you do a test yourself I think you will see this is how NAV behaves natively. If this is the case, where would I get the average cost of the item without having to use the item ledger entries

Hi, I've just checked on my test-database. I was able to reduce the average cost to a maximum of 0.00001 by using the revaluation journal. (I've type in the lines manually and applied each line against an Item Ledger Entry.) Revaluation of Average Cost to the value 0 is not supported. (A code change would be necessary.)

And here you will find the corresponding Customer Case Study from TheNAVpeople of the same project I did wrote the article about. Both worth a read! Ok, one step further now. By setting CalcLines it doesn't error out, but the line at that point is not created yet (since I'm still in the OnInsert trigger). So the component calculation works only for the first line when I insert a second line, so I always have hte last one that is not calculated. I guess I'll need another place to use call that code. Is there an afterinsert on the Page?

I was trying to solve this issue, as we have a customer has an old database as a test, and need to remove the old data to start new transactions for the new year. When we need to remove the old accounting period, and the application remove the periods as they were still open, but the first period can not be able to delete it. Therefore, we went to Development Environment on the Accounting Period table (Table No. 50)  , change the properties of the field “ Date Locked “. Change Editable from No to Yes , and you can delete the first accounting period and worked properly.

Hello experts, I am looking into importing a company data from one NAV db to another. Is this possible without writing SQL script? There are a lot of tables so I m thinking this is too much work. We have NAV 2013 R2 version so not sure if it's available yet. I see it's available in NAV 2018. Any feedback/suggestions from you would be highly appreciated.

Hi, Why not you use configuration packages? For more details you can have a look at: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/dynamicsnav-2013/jj128092(v=nav.70) Let me know if that is helpful. Thanks

Since our average cost method is by item, we can only get it to $0.01 which is not good since we have items with UOM of cm. The valuation can be out by quite a bit.
